Happy August 1st! This is one of my favorite days from my childhood, my Grandpa Barrett's birthday. I always got to spend summers in Montana, and always got to spend his birthday with him. He has been gone for 11 years, but never far from my heart.
So, Happy Birthday Grandpa Bear! Thanks for never calling me Katie, but always Babe, and for teaching me how to mow a lawn. Thank you for the countless bowls of oatmeal, the frozen rolos, and Big Red gum. Thank you for always teaching me that the quickest way to show ignorance is by over using four letter words. You are forever my hero.
