Invent Idaho

The big kid's chose to compete in Invent Idaho this year. It is a program that encourages kid's to get creative and come up with solutions to everyday problems. They did amazing! Olivia entered the Games category, and Riley entered Working Model. This is how it went...
Olivia created Library Labrynth... with help from her Daddy she was able to create a game using only material found at Habitat for Humanity... the goal get kids to have fun about classic children's books...

Riley came up with the Lego Foundation Station... your child's lego experience could look like this,

and when Mom yells "time for dinner" all you have to do is this...

OR you could just keep dealing with this!!!
They took Best of Category in the School Competiton! Which was pretty remarkable given it was annonymous, so they were delighted for themselves and eachother when they found those huge yellow ribbons on their spot!
Next up
District Competition!
Riley placed Third in his category, and only the top two got to go on. He had a really good attitude about it, but it was a little heart breaking. However, we talked to judges at Regionals that had heard about his project and they couldn't believe he wasn't there! Good job Riley, and we use his invention EVERYDAY!! Might have to sell it Legos :D

And little Sis got a big ol' Blue Ribbon!! On to regionals, where...
Oh look another Blue Ribbon!! This threw Olivia into the State Competition in Moscow, Idaho competeing against kiddos from all over the great state of Ida-Ida-Ho-Ho-Ho! This was the same weekend as Riley's birthday party so our dear friend Kim offered to take it down for her! GUESS WHAT... FIRST IN THE STATE!! Library Labrynth rocked it!!! We are so proud of you and your acheivments baby doll!!!
(State pics to come soon)
Until then we took her out to Johnny Carinos... great shot with a proud papa!
